JOEYS had a fantastic time tonight at the District combined christmas party at Stuart Park..

What a fantastic time we had with the other joey groups from the district, some of the children are getting to know each other and its great to see them remember each other when we get the groups from the district together for something like this evening. We all got a tattoo, decorated some biscuits, played some fun games and had a waterfight, which I think everyone enjoyed the most, even the leaders were having a hoot of a time..I know that this leader thought it was hilarious but driving home in soaking wet jeans wasn't so much fun..

I would like to thank Darzee from Balgownie Joey Mob for organising it and especially for giving those great presents to all the Joeys there..Also, thanks to Jabiru from 1st Bulli for organising that lovely sausage sizzle we had for dinner..yum!!

DUTY CAMP HAS BEEN POSTPONED TILL TERM 1 NEXT YEAR..

Yes, you read that right..this weather is supposed to be like this for the next 5 days so we have decided to postpone the Duty Camp till February or March next year.

Last night some Scouts, Cubs and Joeys went up to Jumbulla Aboriginal Discovery Centre at Bulli Tops and it was a very interesting evening, we saw some videos about the local Aboriginal Tribes from the Illawarra, some of us got to try indigenous foods and we even learnt how to weave from a river Reed.. All the children seems to enjoy themselves, especially when they bought out the weapons :) One of the Joeys thought it would be fun to try to knock Dingo out with the special knocker-out-er weapon..Lucky for Dingo he can move faster than a Joey. haha..

We learnt some Aboriginal words and sang a song which was familiar to us all..

Gabara =     Head
Djarrung =  Shoulder
Guruk   =     Knees
Manuwi  =   Toes

Joeys were out and about last weekend..

Some of the Joeys attended the Joey Survivor Camp at Mt Keira last weekend and as far as I could tell, they all had a fantastic time and the mums and dads who came along seemed to enjoy themselves just as much as their children. The weather was beautiful and lucky for us, it started to rain right when we were packing up our stuff to go home.. :)

We did some great stuff over the 2 days, here are the photos so you can see what a great time we had..

Term 4 has been busy so far and it isn't finished yet..

Its been quite busy these last few months.. During October some of the Scouts attended the Jamborette at Berrima Scout Camp, we finally managed to get up to the glow worms after having postponed the outing due to bad weather 3 times..Liam Oliver received his Grey Wolf Award and we had cake at the hall to celebrate..Congratulations Liam, that really was a fantastic achievement :).

All who attended the LifeLine Book Fair fundraiser worked very well together and you should all be proud of yourselves, you represented our group very well. Nan Tien Temple was another great day which had a fantastic turnout. Some of our group worked very hard on Eco Day doing some much needed maintenance at the hall..It was a great job you guys did and you definitely deserve a B.R.A.V.O and a 1.2.3 WOLF..and probably a H.O.P as well.. :)
